Welcome to my reflective blog site. This site acts as a manifestation of my reflective processes throughout my ten week internship, nearing the completion of my BT/BA degree at the Australian Catholic University, along with consideration of the content of the accompanying unit – Transition to the Profession. It is here that you will see my reflections upon my practicum experiences and furthermore, my considerations on how I may improve myself as an educator of young people.
I believe that the only way we can improve ourselves is by reflection; to look back at what has happened and consider why it happened, and what we can do to improve things for next time. The following quote (paraphrased) really hits the nail on the head in terms of the importance of self reflection:
It is anticipated that the processes of reflection within this site will allow me to develop as a teacher to become a better teacher than I was yesterday, and to instill the process of reflection within my everyday practice, so that each and every day, I will become a better teacher than I was the day before.
